Gas Furnaces
Heating and air conditioning systems are the biggest users of energy in the home, up to 75% of the utility bill. A new high efficiency furnace can save up to 50% in operating costs over a ten year old furnace. Many 1990 and earlier model furnaces have efficiencies of 65% or less. The minimum efficiency furnace that can be sold in the United States today is 78%. Furnaces are available that are up to 96.6% efficient.

Air Conditioners
Air conditioners may look similar, but check the SEER ratings. Higher SEER numbers save more money. A 13 SEER rated air conditioner uses 23% less energy then a 10 SEER unit. 13 SEER will be the minimum efficiency standard by 2006.

Heat Pumps & Fan Coils
Heat pumps are rated in SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) and HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor). SEER and HSPF ratings are like Miles per Gallon rating of automobiles. Higher SEER and HSPF ratings mean greater energy savings.
The fan coil is the indoor component of a heat pump system. It includes the fan and the heating/cooling coil. The fan coil is designed for a particular refrigerant, so it must match with the heat pump. A variable speed fan coil can improve comfort with improved humidity control and warmer heating temperatures, and save energy in cooling.

Air Cleaners
Today's homeowners are realizing that keeping a home comfortable is about more than just temperature control. The quality of the air you breathe is too important an issue to ignore! Learn how to control the humidity in your home, and how to keep your indoor air clean and fresh.

Humidifiers
Carrier Fan-Powered Humidifiers are independent units with their own fans that add moisture directly into your ducts, while Bypass Humidifiers work in tandem with your furnace system to deliver enhanced moisture throughout your home. Both options are quiet, energy efficient ways to make your home more comfortable, and reduce static electricity.

Controls & Thermostats
With our wide variety of highly engineered thermostats, wireless thermostats and Thermidistats™—including our all-star Infinity™ Control—you have precise control over temperature, humidity, air treatment and scheduling. It's the advanced heating and cooling innovation you're used to from the experts at Carrier.

UV Lamp
UV Lamps from Carrier zap the mold and bacteria that can sometimes grow in the moist environment of your air conditioning or indoor coils. This way, unhealthy pollutants are killed and won't circulate through your family's home.

Geothermal Heat Pumps
Innovative Carrier geothermal heat pumps tap into the earth's surface, using the energy and relatively consistent heat found in the earth, a pond, or well water instead of using outside air like traditional heat pumps. Geothermal heat pumps provide both cooling and heating to your home and are able to maintain the highest efficiency on even the coldest winter nights or the hottest summer days.

Duct Free Split Systems
Carrier duct-free split systems deliver the unmatched comfort of a traditional split system to specific individual spaces in your home. Whether you're creating a quiet, comfort-controlled home theater room, or simply want to heat or cool an area in your home without ducts, the wide variety of Carrier duct-free split systems give you the efficiency, aesthetics and comfort of a traditional central split system.

Room By Room Solutions
Innovative Carrier Packaged Terminal Air Conditioners (PTAC) and Room Air Conditioners make your home's individual rooms or other small spaces more comfortable. Remember; just like with whole-home systems, the higher the SEER and HSPF ratings, the more efficient they will be.
